Curzon cinemas have played host to all manner of premieres and parties over the years, so much so that people are often surprised to hear that our venues can also be used for conferences. Our unique and varied portfolio of cinemas – with their wide-ranging screen capacities, sophisticated design and sleek bar areas – are well equipped for presentations, AGMs, awards ceremonies and more.
Here, we respond to your most frequently asked questions about how to host a conference in a Curzon cinema.

What are the benefits of hosting a conference in a cinema rather than a hotel?
Cinema conferences cut down on extra external costs such as furniture and AV hires, since they are already in place. The big screen means presentation content is at the forefront and leaves an impression on attendees. Presenters can easily get their message across to everyone because all our screens have tiered seating, making content clearly visible. We can offer similar events to hotels, but delivered in a more engaging and impactful way.
Aren’t we too big/small a group to hire a cinema?
People assume cinemas will be either too big or small for their requirements, but we have various size screens that can accommodate different capacities – our smallest are 28-seaters, and the largest has 300 seats.

Can you also host receptions and event breakouts?
Most venues have full screen capacity breakout space, and we have in-house catering and fully licensed bars. We offer tea and coffee receptions at all venues, and many of our cinemas serve pizza and light bites. We also work with dedicated external caterers for any additional requirements.
Can I brand the venue?
One of the great things about using a Curzon cinema is the branding we can offer alongside events. Clients can take over the quad-poster cases, the digital screens and, where available, the external canopy. All this means clients can really make the look and feel of the venue match their event theme and branding.

Will I need to make my presentation in a different way?
Not at all. Clients can bring along their standard PowerPoint or Keynote presentation and connect their laptops to our projectors. We include technical rehearsals with all venue hires, so clients have the peace of mind that it will all run smoothly on the day of the event.
