VISITING OUR CINEMAS - TERMS OF ADMISSION

Important points

Welcome to the Terms which apply when visiting our Curzon cinemas (“Cinemas”), a place to discover other worlds and cultures, or see from a different perspective, provided by us, Curzon Cinemas Limited (Reg No.00283280), The Kodak, 11 Keeley Street, WC2B 4BA, UK (“Curzon” or “we” or “us”) in England only. 

By visiting our Cinemas, you accept the Terms and agree to comply with them. These Terms are subject to change from time to time, without prior written notice and such changes will apply to any visit made after such changes have been posted.  Please read these Terms before each visit to understand your legal rights, remedies and obligations; if you do not agree to these Terms, do not visit our Cinemas.

1. Minimum Age Requirement
  1. Age appropriate rating

    We follow the advice of the British Board of Film Classification (“BBFC”) and that of the relevant local authority who may impose restrictions to the admission of children.  Please refer to the BBFC’s website prior to purchasing any ticket.

  2. Alcohol consumption

    Our staff will not serve alcoholic beverages to anyone under the age of 18.

  3. Presentation of (photo) identification 

    A form of identification may be required.  We may refuse admission to, or serve you and/or any of your guest(s), if in our opinion you or they appear to be below the minimum age requirement(s).
    This includes failure (when prompted) to provide photo ID: when purchasing tickets for (and entry into) films rated 12A, 15, and 18; and when purchasing alcoholic beverages.
2. Tickets
  1. Purchasing your tickets

    You may purchase your tickets in our cinemas, subject to availability. Please ensure you arrive sufficiently ahead of time to avoid any disappointment.  Alternatively, you may purchase your tickets in advance via our website: our Online Purchase Terms will apply.
     
  2. Refund Policy

    It is your responsibility to check all information  (e.g. film, any age restriction, date and time) prior to purchase. We are not required to rectify mistaken purchases or replace lost or stolen tickets. Tickets and/or food and beverage purchased in our cinemas are not subject to statutory cooling off rights and will not be refunded.  Advice about your legal rights is available from your local Citizens' Advice Bureau or Trading Standards office. 
     
  3. Cancellation or Closure

    We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or cancel screenings in our Cinemas and/or to shut (partly or fully, temporarily or permanently) our Cinemas, without notice.

  4. Benefiting from Concessionary Tickets

    Concessions may be available and vary in each of our Cinemas, please confirm eligibility criteria with our staff. If you are a CEA card holder (issued by the UKCA), your accompanying carer will be given one free ticket. Our staff may ask for proof of status at any time. 

  5. Keeping your Tickets and Receipts

    You must present your ticket prior to entering our screening room(s), along with any ID card or proof of status (e.g. student card).  

  6. No Resale of Tickets

    Tickets may not be offered for resale or be resold, be used for commercial, marketing, advertising, or promotional purposes.
3. Food and Beverages
  1. Food and beverages (F&B) within our Cinemas

    1. Only food and beverages (F&B) that you purchase within our Cinemas may be consumed within our Cinemas.
    2. All F&B orders are subject to availability, and inclusive of VAT. If a pricing error occurs and the error can reasonably be recognised as such, we will not be obligated to provide you with your order at the incorrect price.
    3. We take no responsibility for the loss, damage, or theft of any F&B so purchased.

  2. Allergens

    1. To help make your visit with us as easy as possible, allergen information for our F&B products is readily available. We provide information on the 14 allergens that are listed here.
    2. Ahead of your visit, you can find allergen information on all of our products here. When you order F&B from us, we kindly ask you to inform our staff of any allergies you (or anyone in your party) may have, so that we are best placed to help you with your order.
    3. How we supply allergen information to you depends on how we serve the F&B to you.

      1. Pre-Packed for Direct Sale (PPDS)

        In accordance with “Natasha’s Law”, all F&B we prepare and then package onsite at our Cinemas will be labelled with the product name and ingredients (with any of the 14 primary allergens present in bold). 

      2. F&B sold unpackaged or loose

        All F&B that is sold loose, without any packaging prior to sale,  will have its allergen information available verbally.    
                      
      3. F&B pre-packaged by our suppliers

        With the exception of single-ingredient products (e.g. bottled water) and alcohol (see the Nutrition section below), our suppliers label their products with all ingredients and highlight allergens in bold.
        We take no responsibility for the accuracy of these labels.

        If in doubt, our staff will have allergen info for all of our products available, so please ask them if you have any questions.

  3. Alcohol

    1. Serving alcoholic beverages is subject to our Cinemas’ licences. Please enquire with our staff for further information (e.g. licensed hours, take-away, or serving measures).
    2. The consumption of alcoholic beverages may be restricted to designated areas.
    3. We refuse to serve alcoholic beverages to anyone we deem to be inebriated, or to anyone who (intends to) purchase alcoholic beverages for an inebriated person.

  4. Nutritional Information

    1. Calorie information for all of our F&B is available at the point of purchase: whether by our menus, on display signs, or on the labels (whether our own, or pre-packaged by our supplier).
    2. Alcoholic beverages are exempt from being labelled with their nutritional information or their ingredients, but do have allergen information readily available (e.g. Sulphites, Gluten).

  5. Your Dietary Requirements

    Our staff are happy to assist you with making suitable choices for any dietary requirements you may have. Please speak to a member of our team for further assistance, or send an email to [email protected] ahead of your visit.

  6. Preparing your F&B

    Whilst we take every reasonable measure to frequently clean our preparation areas, our F&B products may be prepared in the same environment as other products which may contain allergens.
    As a result, we cannot completely remove the risk of cross-contamination, and cannot guarantee that any of our F&B items will not contain trace amounts of a specific allergen. Consequently:
    1. We cannot guarantee that any of our products are Gluten Free, even if the ingredients do not contain gluten;
    2. Our ‘Vegan-friendly’ products may not be suitable for customers with a dairy or egg allergy.
4. For everyone to enjoy their visit...
  1. Respectful Behaviour

    Please treat all of our staff and everyone with respect in our Cinemas (and beyond). Any person found to be disrespectful, or engaging in verbal or physical abuse to any other person(s), or endangering themselves or others, will be asked to leave our Cinemas without refund, without limiting any right we and our staff may have against you.

  2. Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices

    Please refrain from using your mobile phone and turn all devices off, for the duration of your time in our screening room(s).

  3. Accessibility

    Our screening rooms have available spaces or removable seats for customers with mobility scooters or wheelchairs. Hearing support devices may be offered upon request, subject to availability.
    If you, or any of your party, have any accessibility requirements which may affect your evacuation, please inform our staff.
    For any accessibility requirement, please inform our staff in Cinemas or via email at [email protected] ahead of your visit.

  4. Smoking Policy

    Do not smoke or use any e-cigarettes or any vapour/smoke-producing devices anywhere in our Cinemas, except where expressly authorised.

  5. Arrive ahead of time

    For your enjoyment, arrive ahead of time to relax and enjoy our Cinemas. Latecomers may be asked to wait outside our screening rooms to minimise disruption, in particular during events (e.g. Q&A, premieres, etc).

  6. Screening room(s) - standing or sitting on the stairs

    Once in our screening room(s), please sit in  your allocated seats.  To ensure safety and clear access in our screening room(s), do not stay standing or sit on any staircase in our Cinemas at any time, and keep all items from blocking our walkways and access points. If you require assistance, please inform our staff, and we’ll be happy to assist you.

  7. Personal Property

    We are not responsible for the loss, damage, or theft of your belongings. Please keep your personal belongings with you at all times. If you believe you have lost any possessions at our Cinemas, please contact us at [email protected] with the item description and details about when/where you lost it.  Please bear in mind we are unable to store any of your belongings and do not bring any wheeled devices into our Cinemas (i.e. no skateboards, e-scooters, hoverboards).

  8. Animals Policy

    No animals other than guide or hearing dogs are allowed in our Cinemas, unless agreed in advance on a case-by-case basis with the manager of the relevant Cinema. You take responsibility for the behaviour of the animal that you bring into our Cinemas.

  9. Large Gatherings and Fundraising

    Any large gathering (in excess of 10 individuals) or fundraising activities in our Cinemas is subject to the prior approval of the manager of the relevant Cinema.

  10. General Right to Refuse Entry

    We reserve the right to refuse entry to you, or require you to leave without refund, if you refuse to comply with these Terms.

  11. Emergency Situations

    In the event of an evacuation, you must comply with all health and safety instructions and you must not re-enter the Cinema until further advice. All enquiries (including refunds) should be directed to our staff when normal operations have resumed.
5. Anti-Piracy and Recording Equipment
  1. No recording equipment of any type is allowed in any of our Cinemas

    For example, the use of cameras, camcorders, wearable technology, and microphones.

  2. Recording any copyrighted material (or attempting to) is a criminal offence

    This carries the maximum sentence of 10 years and/or an unlimited fine. We are legally obliged to report any such action to the relevant authorities, and comply with any subsequent investigation. If you notice anyone participating in the recording of copyrighted materials, we invite you to share this with a member of our team immediately.

  3. Bag Inspection

    Our staff reserve the right to inspect your bags at random, to check for recording equipment. If you decline to do so, or we find any recording equipment (without prior written approval), we reserve the right to refuse entry.
6. CCTV and Security
  1. CCTV use in our Cinemas

    Please be advised that CCTV is in use throughout all of our Cinemas. Should you enter into any of our Cinemas, you hereby consent to our use of CCTV for strictly necessary purposes only (e.g. for crime prevention/detection, or obeying our legal obligations).

    Our Privacy Policy covers how your data, including any CCTV footage of your visit to our Cinemas, is used. Should you have any questions, please email us at [email protected].

  2. Please inform a member of staff upon witnessing anything illegal or dangerous in or around our Cinemas.
7. Pandemic, Epidemic, and Public Health
  1. Guidance Updates

    Our pandemic, epidemic, and public health policy is subject to constant review to reflect the changing government safety guidelines, so please ensure to check our COVID-19 FAQ's or ask our staff for the latest guidance.

    Subject to government orders and potential staffing issues due to illness, we may be required to cancel part or all of our Cinema programming at short notice. If your screening has been affected as a result, please contact [email protected] for further information.

  2. Constant Measures

    We ask you to practice good hygiene measures whilst in our Cinemas, to help protect yourself and others.
8. Other Important Points
  1. Limitation of Liability

    If we fail to comply with these Terms, we are responsible for  loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our negligence, only. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence of our breach or if it was contemplated by you and us at the time of the purchase of your tickets or food and beverage. To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable to you or any third person for any indirect, consequential, exemplary, incidental, special or punitive damages, including for any lost profits, even if we were aware or had been advised of the possibility of such damages.   Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained herein, our liability to you will at all times be limited to the amount paid by you in our Cinemas up to a limit of £1,000 except in the event of death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law. You acknowledge that if no amount is paid by you when placing the order, you shall be limited to injunctive relief only unless otherwise permitted by law, and you shall not be entitled to damages of any kind from us, regardless of the cause of action.

  2. Indemnity 

    You agree to indemnify us for any loss or damage that we may incur, including without limitation legal fees, arising from your visit of our Cinemas other than as permitted under these Terms.

  3. Events beyond our control 

    We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under any contract with you that is caused by any event, act, omission or circumstance beyond our reasonable control ("Force Majeure Event"). A Force Majeure Event includes any strike, lock-out or other industrial action, civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war, fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, pandemic, epidemic or other natural disaster, impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport, impossibility of the use of public or private telecommunications networks (including the world wide web) and the acts, decrees, legislation, regulations or restrictions of any government). Our performance of any contract with you is deemed to be suspended for the period that the Force Majeure Event continues, we shall have an extension of time to perform our obligation so affected for a duration equal to that of the Force Majeure Events. If we are prevented from, or delayed in, performing of any contract with you by any Force Majeure Event for a continuous period of more than 30 days, either of us may terminate such contract with immediate effect on written notice, in which case neither of us shall have any liability to the other party (but without affecting any rights and remedies that arose before such termination).

  4. Severability
     
    If any part, term, or provision of these Terms shall be held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be illegal, unenforceable, or in conflict with any relevant law, the remaining portions or provisions shall still remain valid and continue in full force and effect. 

  5. Assignability

    Any contract formed in accordance with these Terms is binding on you and us and on our successors and assigns. You may not transfer, assign, charge or otherwise dispose of any contract with us (or any of your rights or obligations under it) without our prior written consent. We may freely assign, sub-license or otherwise dispose of any of your rights under these Terms.

  6. Third-party rights

    These Terms are not intended to confer, and do not confer, any rights or remedies on any person other than you and us, except that any Curzon group company may enforce any right or remedy expressly conferred on such Curzon group company under these Terms. 

  7. Law and Jurisdiction 

    These Terms shall be governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
